Coloring Greying

After “With a Blessing Rather Than Love Said Nietzsche” By Adrienne Rich

By R. Cary

Measuring my morality as a compass thrown up high

A directional needle beckoning my point of perception

Beyond the clouds pressuring gods assume interjections

As presumptions looming over my transgressions where I

Reside; this needle of truth lighting my path when choice

Becomes obscure and grey covering goodness and night,

Blinding and confusing my moral boundaries are tested,

Resting against the backdrop of my faith of life pointing

Perceptions living behind pressuring clouds of our justice

As a form of atonement living in this compass of morality;

When moral conflict arises in our lives and conviction is

Unclear, only in trust our blind faith will let us all heal,

Feel our paths through conflicted choices with answers

We simply cannot know about grey coloring our lives
