My Fervor
By R. Cary
Burning to dig, a feverish endeavour
Tearing complacency; tear drops into picks of ice
Ready to explore hand over hand I climb,
My body dangling no lack of fear only further
I penetrate this mountain implementing my will,
One hand lets go seeing all far below
Only a snow storm I leave behind,
An entire land covered never to be seen again;
Two hands I regain and begin finality I pick
Raising my body, this peak becoming
My two footed stance,
An iceberg I float away holding my stance,
The edge of this earth I go, as the world ends
I stand taller knowing through all my effort and
All my skill going over in only my faith will
My duty surpass the bounds of my body
End
My Fervor
