Beowulf By R. Cary

Beowulf

By R. Cary

Staring into the tomb of Grendel’s birth, a hero’s tragedy plaguing his soul

Born of the mighty King of Gods, only in the soul of Beowulf does he know

Torments of hell grasped by the musing devil seducing as Angelina Jolie

A female as art told many times before bringing even men of Gods to kneel

As the metaphor of the tragedy becomes born into the Grendel of disgust

Do we bear the truth of our revulsion in our actions relieved, upon our own

Self rot and repugnance born to birth of exerted abhorrence giving its essence

Into the world seeking our destruction against our sins, unraveling our hearts,

Corrupting our souls when detestation looms, as our acts show the truth in us

Depicting our inward hate of our human nature sworn to ruin even those we love
